Growing up has never been easy, but it
comes a lot easier when a young person is part of a supportive Christian
fellowship. Student
Ministries at Grand Avenue United Methodist Church encourages its participants
to develop a healthy balance in life:
socially, intellectually, and spiritually.
To accomplish this, the student ministries program offers fun and
spirited events, activities and studies for youth.
Student Ministries provides a safe place for our youth and their friends
to grow in their Christian faith. MISSION STATEMENTTo
enhance one another’s faith in Christ and lay a foundation for future
generations by following God’s footsteps into the future and keeping our focus
on Christ around us. YOUTH FELLOWSHIP GROUP The United Methodist Youth Fellowship group consists
of youth from 7th through 12th grades.
Group activities throughout the year consist of social gatherings like
sledding, attending hockey and basketball games, lock-ins and mission projects
such as the CROP walk, serving meals at St. Benedict’s Center in Milwaukee and
church cleanup days. Vicki
and Pete Szpara serve as youth coordinators. EVENTS
Throughout the year special events are
planned for students and their friends to enjoy. The
best way to keep informed is by attending Sunday School, reading the monthly
church newsletter and weekly church bulletins, or checking out the ever-changing
bulleting board, located outside Nursery room.
PROGRAMS
The United Methodist Church believes
God's love for the world is an active and engaged love.
We care enough about people's lives to take action, not live our lives as
casual observers. Below
are a few of the programs that guide our children to think and act out of this
faith perspective.
