Regular Sunday Services
The members of Grand Avenue United Methodist Church
welcome you to our family. We
pray that you will continue to find the warmth of Christ’s love in the
fellowship of this congregation, that you will discover the Spiritual
gifts which God has given you and use those gifts with us in ministry to
this community and world.
- Our regular Sunday services begin at 10:15AM during the school year and at
9:00AM during the summer. (Contact the church
office for the exact dates of transition.)
- Sunday school is offered between 9:00AM and 10:00AM during the school
year. (More on Sunday School.)
- Our order of worship varies, but typically includes prayer, hymns,
scripture readings and two messages delivered by Pastor Guse -- one for the
children and one for the adults. We offer open communion on the first Sunday of each month. Services are generally
traditional in nature, blended at times with more contemporary hymns.
- We have a small but very dedicated choir
- Nursery care for small children is available during the service. Our child care rooms are supervised by nurturing
individuals who will take care of your child’s needs.
Or if you prefer, you are welcome to take your child to worship with
you! Be sure to visit the Busy
Bag area in the Gathering Area first, where you child can borrow a bag
filled with quiet activities. Our
Gathering Area serves as a Cry Room during the 10:15a.m. service.
In this space you will find comfortable seating available, and
there’s a changing station in the women’s bathroom just down the hall
across from the kitchen.
- Most services are followed by coffee and conversation in our gathering
area (narthex).
- There is, of course, no obligation. All are
welcome and we look forward seeing old friends and making new ones each
Sunday.
