| Grand Avenue UMC is a community of Christians
committed: Open Hearts, Open
Minds, Open Doors. Though we
are diverse in background and perspective, we are united in a common
commitment to Christ and a Shared vision of ministry to all God’s
people. Membership is not required to attend our services or events. The
public is welcome and we would be happy to have you come.
The United Methodist Church is a “mainstream”
Protestant church which holds to the central teaching of the Christian
faith, while encompassing a good deal of latitude in individual
understandings and expressions of faith.
We encourage each person to continue growing in faith within the
fellowship created by Christ’s love for us and our love for one another.

Our membership geography:
- Two thirds live in the Port Washington/Saukville area
- Two tenths live elsewhere in Ozaukee County
- Another tenth live elsewhere in Wisconsin
- The remaining 3% live outside of Wisconsin
We welcome new members in three ways:
- Through transfer from other United Methodist Churches
- Through our confirmation classes, which are primarily intended for teens
- Through an adult confession of faith
A person or family may join the church
either by transfer from another church or denomination or by profession of
faith. The United Methodist Church
recognizes the baptism and confirmation of other churches.
Membership is open to all who earnestly desire to be disciples of Christ
– to live in love and service while growing in faith
All
prospective members are asked to attend a New Membership Orientation session,
held quarterly or as needed. The
sessions help participants understand the church’s sense of mission, our
programs and ministries, our understanding of discipleship and the basics of the
United Methodist tradition. It is
also a time to meet our staff and other new members, and to become familiar with
the church facilities
