There is always something to look
forward to at Grand Avenue. Throughout
the year, a wide variety of annual and new church events are planned and enjoyed
by members and friends. Below are a
few of the annual events. New
events are always cropping up! Members
stay informed by reading the monthly church newsletter and weekly church
bulletin. Annual
Salad Luncheon and Bake Sale – For over 30 years, this popular event has offered
church members and the community a place to gather together for a delicious
meal. Funds raised go directly to
mission outreach. This event is
held during the late spring/early summer season. Rummage Sale – Held in early summer, the Rummage Sale offers members the opportunity to donate various items for resale. Grand Avenue’s rummage sale is organized by the Missions Committee and all proceeds go toward helping others. Missions’ Bake Sale – Money raised at the bake sale is pledged to local and global agencies. Monthly Potluck Lunch – After services on Sundays, the Missions Committee sponsors a potluck lunch for all to attend. Easter Breakfast – Early Sunday morning between the sunrise service and 10:15 A.M. service. Stone Soup – Held in spring, the members of Grand Avenue join together for fellowship and sharing. A wonderful soup is created when the congregation contributes ingredients to the “miraculous” pot of stones. Stone Soup Sunday celebrates our diversity and sharing of gifts – each of us has something special to bring to the table! Christmas
Poinsettias and Easter
Lilies – Organized by the Worship Committee, all members
can share in this wonderful tradition. Plants
purchased will be on display in the front of the sanctuary during services.
Following services, they are yours to enjoy. |
